Resep Sayur Asem Medok

Introduction

  • 1 teaspoon of shrimp paste

  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil



Instructions



Here are the instructions to make sayur asem medok:


  1. Prepare all the ingredients.

  2. Peel the shallots and garlic and chop them finely.

  3. Chop the bird's eye chilies and red chilies. If you want a spicier dish, you can add more chilies.

  4. Heat the cooking oil in a pot over medium heat.

  5. Add the chopped shallots, garlic, bird's eye chilies, and red chilies to the pot. Stir fry until fragrant for about 2-3 minutes.

  6. Add the tamarind paste or tamarind juice to the pot and stir well.

  7. Add the water, bay leaves, lemongrass, and shrimp paste to the pot and bring to a boil.

  8. Add the snake beans, corn, and young jackfruit to the pot and stir well.

  9. Add the salt and sugar to the pot and stir well.

  10. Lower the heat and let the dish simmer for about 30-45 minutes until the vegetables are cooked and the flavors are well combined.

  11. When the dish is ready, turn off the heat and let it cool down for a few minutes.

  12. Serve the dish hot with rice.
